Fierce ambitions drive Pyramids and RS Berkane ahead of CAF Super Cup clash

As the African Super Cup approaches, anticipation is building for the showdown between Egypt’s Pyramids FC and Morocco’s RS Berkane.

Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic expressed pride in his team’s progress, highlighting the squad’s intense focus and hunger for more trophies. Despite missing key players until the last moment due to international duty, Jurcic insisted, “We’re fully ready now. We are champions of Africa and half the world, and our goal is to add another title to the Pyramids’ history.”

Jurcic was adamant that no rumors about sidelining players like Ramadan Sobhi held any truth. Injuries aside, every squad member has value and there is no favoritism under his watch. He assured Egyptian fans, “We represent Egypt in this tournament. I hope the supporters cheer us on and celebrate with us. We respect every opponent, but we are the champions and want to stay that way.”

On the other side, Berkane coach Mouine Chaabani made it clear his team won’t be intimidated by the home advantage Pyramids may enjoy. “The Super Cup is special and any team can win. We possess African final experience and remain focused on the present, not the past.” Chaabani closed by promising Berkane fans, “We’ll fight to bring joy and another title to our supporters.”

The Egyptian side leads in market value and seeks revenge for a previous narrow defeat to Berkane in 2020, while the Moroccans hope to capitalize on recent domestic and continental successes. The contest promises drama, with both teams determined to leave their mark on African football history
