ZINEDINE ZIDANE: FFF STEPS IN TO DEFEND COACH AMID DIPLOMA CONTROVERSY
Amid mounting controversy over a coaching diploma issue, Zinedine Zidane has found a key ally in the French Football Federation (FFF). The FFF has officially reached out to its Spanish counterpart in support of the 1998 World Cup winner, who currently coaches Real Madrid Castilla.
Zidane, 42, is under threat of a multi-month suspension for allegedly coaching without the proper UEFA qualifications. However, according to RMC, the FFF has reminded the Spanish Football Federation that Zidane holds a special exemption, similar to the one granted to Willy Sagnol during his time at Girondins de Bordeaux.
The FFF believes that Zidane is well on track to validating his coaching license and sees no reason for his current role at Castilla to be disrupted. Their intervention highlights the trust and confidence placed in Zidane’s coaching future.
In the meantime, the French legend has taken on a media role as a presenter on Canal+, providing a welcome distraction as he awaits a final decision on the matter.
