FFF condemns racist abuse of Ibrahima Konate and pledges firm action

The French Football Federation has issued a strong statement condemning the racist abuse aimed at Liverpool and France defender Ibrahima Konate on social media in recent days.

The governing body stressed that such attacks have no place in football or wider society.

“The FFF condemns in the strongest possible terms the racist insults targeting Ibrahima Konate on social media over the last few days.” It added that “these hateful remarks, which go against the fundamental values of sport, are unacceptable. Football must remain a space for respect, inclusion, and unity. No player should have to endure such attacks because of their origin or skin color.”

“The FFF offers its full support to Ibrahima Konaté and reaffirms its total commitment to the fight against all forms of discrimination.” The statement also warned that “the Federation also reserves the right to take any necessary action to ensure that the perpetrators of these acts are identified and punished.”

The message underlines French football’s determination to stand behind Konate and send a clear signal that racism will be confronted, not ignored.
