Fez Grand Stadium upgrade advances ahead of 2030 World Cup

Morocco has opened two international tenders to complete the technical redevelopment of Fez Grand Stadium ahead of the 2030 World Cup.

The combined estimated value of the contracts is approximately 1.52 billion Moroccan dirhams, including taxes.

The larger tender, worth about 1.291 billion dirhams, covers electrical systems, including high- and low-voltage installations. It also includes specialist lighting, fire detection, automated firefighting, information networks, access control, LED perimeter screens, public-address systems, broadcasting facilities and video surveillance.

The second contract, estimated at 228.18 million dirhams, focuses on fluid systems. Its scope includes plumbing, air conditioning, ventilation, smoke extraction and fire-protection equipment.

Potential bidders may visit the stadium on November 2, although attendance is optional. Technical documents must be submitted by November 9, while bids will be opened on November 10 through Morocco’s public procurement platform.

The electrical works are scheduled to last 18 months, with the fluid installations expected to take 15 months. A 24-month warranty period will begin after provisional completion.

SONARGES is overseeing the project, while the National Agency for Public Facilities is acting as delegated project owner. The stadium’s broader 2026 renovation programme is estimated at 2.79 billion dirhams, marking another major step in Morocco’s preparations for the tournament.
