Ferran Torres has left supporters guessing about his future after posting a brief and unexplained message on social media saying they would not see him next week.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward shared the comment on his official Instagram account, writing: “I have been thinking about it for some time, and I want to tell you that you will not see my face next week.”
No further explanation accompanied the message, which was published as an Instagram story. Although it was only a single line, the post caused considerable confusion among Torres’ supporters, particularly because of its timing.
The Spain international had been in impressive form for his club in recent days. He has scored six goals in five matches this season, with three coming in the league and three in the Champions League.
That run has made Torres one of Paris Saint-Germain’s leading performers at the start of the campaign, following his move from Barcelona last summer.
Spain call-up adds to uncertainty
The timing of Torres’ message has heightened speculation because it came shortly after Spain announced their squad for the next round of UEFA Nations League fixtures during the upcoming international break.
Torres was included in the squad named on Friday. The World Cup winner with Spain is therefore expected to be part of the national-team group, although his post has raised questions about whether he will be available.
It remains unclear whether the message relates to a football decision involving Spain, a personal matter or a potential new career move. Torres did not provide any detail to indicate what he meant by saying he would not be seen next week.
Neither the player, Paris Saint-Germain nor the Spanish Football Federation has issued an official explanation so far.
Supporters are now waiting for further clarification about the message and what Torres’ apparent absence next week could mean.
