Ferran Torres removes Barcelona memories from Instagram after Paris Saint-Germain move

Ferran Torres has deleted all Barcelona-related content from the highlights on his personal Instagram account after leaving the club for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Spain forward’s decision appears to mark the end of his time with Barcelona on social media, as he begins a new chapter in Paris. The move attracted attention because the images had formed part of his profile for several years.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Torres spent four and a half seasons with Barcelona after joining from Manchester City in January 2022. He made 207 appearances for the club and scored 65 goals before starting a new phase of his career with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old made the change away from the pitch by removing the Barcelona images previously saved in his Instagram highlights. However, he did not accompany the decision with a public statement or explanation.

It is therefore unclear whether Torres was simply updating his profile or deliberately creating distance from his time with Barcelona.

The deleted content had remained on his account for years but was removed shortly after his Barcelona spell ended and as he began his footballing life in Paris.

Torres’ departure was accompanied by a farewell message in which he reflected positively on his time at the Catalan club.

“Defending these colours was a source of pride for me,” he wrote, while acknowledging that Barcelona had been his home in recent years.

The forward arrived at the club amid high expectations and experienced both periods of prominence and success and spells in which he had to compete for a regular place in the starting XI.
