Turkish giants Fenerbahce have reportedly made a formal move to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, identifying the Atalanta attacker as a key transfer target for the January window.
Reports suggest the Istanbul-based club have submitted an initial proposal worth €5 million for a loan deal, which includes a mandatory purchase option valued at €37 million. The offer underlines Fenerbahce’s ambition to bolster their attacking options with a proven performer from Serie A.
Lookman, who is currently representing Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, was keen on securing a move to Inter Milan during the summer transfer window. However, negotiations failed to progress at the time as Atalanta remained firm on their valuation of the forward.
At present, Fenerbahce’s proposal is believed to fall short of Atalanta’s asking price, leaving the future of the deal uncertain.
With the transfer window now open, attention will be on whether the Turkish side are willing to improve their offer to tempt the Italian club into an agreement.
