Fenerbahçe rejects Al-Nassr’s bid for Youssef En-Nesyri

Fenerbahçe has turned down an offer from Al-Nassr to acquire Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri during the winter transfer window. The Turkish club deemed the Saudi Pro League side’s proposal insufficient to secure the services of the Atlas Lions star.

Reports indicate that Al-Nassr, seeking a marquee signing to bolster their attack and rival Al-Hilal, identified En-Nesyri as a prime target.

However, despite the player’s uneasy tenure at Fenerbahçe, the Istanbul club remains firm on its valuation.

Al-Nassr’s initial bid included €25 million along with a 15% resale clause, but Fenerbahçe swiftly rejected the offer.

Club president Ali Koç has reportedly demanded an increased fee of €38 million while retaining the proposed resale percentage.

José Mourinho, Fenerbahçe’s head coach, is open to En-Nesyri’s departure but only for the right price.

Koç’s stance underscores the club’s unwillingness to compromise on the value of their summer signing.

Al-Nassr’s management has requested time to reassess their position, leaving open the possibility of submitting a revised offer or shifting their focus to alternative targets.

The Saudi side, currently third in the Pro League standings, joins Sevilla in facing rejection for the Moroccan forward, as the La Liga club’s earlier attempts to sign him also fell short.

Youssef En-Nesyri, who joined Fenerbahçe ahead of the current season, has endured a mixed start to his stint in Turkey.

In 17 appearances across all competitions, the 27-year-old has registered four goals and three assists.

Despite his challenges at the club level, En-Nesyri has been in fine form for Morocco, scoring in three consecutive matches against the Central African Republic, Gabon, and Lesotho.

The forward’s performances on the international stage and his semi-final appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup have maintained his appeal in the transfer market.

Yet, Fenerbahçe’s valuation reflects their confidence in his potential and the broader market demand for proven strikers.

Al-Nassr’s pursuit of En-Nesyri highlights their ambition to reinforce their squad as they contend with domestic and continental challenges.

While their first offer has been rebuffed, the club’s willingness to negotiate could pave the way for a renewed bid.

Alternatively, they may pivot to other high-profile options in their search for a commanding forward.

For now, Fenerbahçe holds firm, and Youssef En-Nesyri’s future remains uncertain as the transfer window heats up.
