Ismaila Sarr on the radar of Fenerbahce

Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have reportedly opened discussions with Crystal Palace over a possible transfer for Senegal international Ismaila Sarr as they continue their preparations for the upcoming season.

The Istanbul-based club are actively looking to strengthen their attacking options and have identified the experienced winger as one of their priority targets during the current transfer window.

According to reports, Fenerbahçe have already established contact with Crystal Palace to explore the possibility of bringing Sarr to Turkey. However, no agreement has been reached at this stage, with negotiations expected to depend on Palace’s valuation of one of their most influential attacking players.

Sarr joined Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 from French club Marseille and quickly became an important figure in the Eagles’ attacking setup. The Senegalese forward still has a contract with the Premier League side until 2029, giving the club a strong negotiating position and no immediate need to part ways with the player.

The long-term contract situation means Fenerbahçe could face a difficult task in convincing Palace to sanction a deal, particularly after Sarr’s impressive performances over the past campaign.

The 28-year-old enjoyed one of the most productive seasons of his career last term, delivering consistently for both club and country. In 45 appearances across all competitions, Sarr scored 21 goals and provided one assist, highlighting his importance as a direct and dangerous attacking threat.

His ability to play on either flank, combined with his explosive pace, dribbling ability and experience at the highest level, has made him an attractive option for clubs looking for proven attacking quality.

Sarr’s excellent form at club level also translated onto the international stage. Representing Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the winger emerged as one of the standout performers for the Teranga Lions, playing a key role in their campaign with four goals and one assist.

His performances on the global stage further increased his reputation and attracted attention from clubs across Europe, with Fenerbahçe now among those monitoring his situation.

For Fenerbahçe, securing Sarr’s signature would represent a major statement of intent as they look to compete domestically and strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The Turkish giants are eager to add more attacking firepower and believe the Senegal star’s experience and versatility could provide a significant boost.

However, any potential deal is likely to require a substantial financial commitment, considering Sarr’s importance to Crystal Palace and the remaining years on his contract.

The coming weeks will determine whether Fenerbahçe can turn their initial interest into a concrete offer or whether Crystal Palace will succeed in retaining one of their key attacking assets.

For now, Ismaila Sarr remains a Crystal Palace player, but his impressive performances have placed him firmly on the radar of ambitious clubs seeking proven quality in the final third.
