Fenerbahçe make approach for Ismaïla Sarr as Crystal Palace demand huge fee

Fenerbahçe have entered the race to sign Senegal international Ismaïla Sarr, with Manchester United also monitoring the Crystal Palace winger after his outstanding performances for club and country.

The Turkish club has made an inquiry about the conditions of a possible transfer, although no formal offer has been submitted to Crystal Palace. Manchester United are also believed to be interested in the 28-year-old but have yet to make an official approach.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Fenerbahçe recently contacted Crystal Palace to explore the possibility of signing Sarr.

However, negotiations have not progressed to an advanced stage, with Palace determined to retain one of their most important attacking players.

The Premier League club are in a strong position due to Sarr’s contract situation, with the Senegal forward tied to Crystal Palace until 2029. His impressive performances over the past season have significantly increased his value.

Sarr enjoyed the best campaign of his career, scoring 21 goals and providing two assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. In the Premier League, he registered nine goals and one assist in 28 matches.

The winger also played a key role in Crystal Palace’s success in the Europa Conference League. He finished the competition as the club’s leading scorer with nine goals and was named the tournament’s best player after helping Palace lift the trophy.

His form continued on the international stage during the 2026 World Cup, where he featured in all four of Senegal’s matches. Sarr scored four goals and added one assist, including a brace against Norway and goals against Iraq and Belgium.

Despite Senegal’s elimination after a 3-2 extra-time defeat, Sarr’s performances further enhanced his reputation. His goalscoring record at the tournament also saw him become Senegal’s leading scorer in World Cup history.

The forward’s rise has been built through a career that started at Génération Foot before moves to Metz, Rennes, Watford, Marseille and Crystal Palace.

He has gained extensive Premier League experience, recording 116 appearances, 27 goals and 13 assists in England’s top flight.

That background could appeal to Manchester United, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options, while Fenerbahçe could offer Sarr a new challenge outside England.

However, Crystal Palace are not expected to allow the Senegalese winger to leave easily. The club are demanding a significant transfer fee for one of their most influential players, meaning any potential deal will depend on whether interested clubs can meet their valuation.
