Felix Uduokhai has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga, with Besiktas defender reportedly attracting interest from Mainz.

The 28-year-old centre-back, currently on the books at the Istanbul club, is the subject of transfer speculation suggesting Mainz are considering a move. According to data compiled on 11 December 2025, the probability of a deal is not yet defined, with the move listed as “?” rather than given a firm likelihood, underlining that talks remain at a speculative stage.

Uduokhai’s market value is currently assessed at €6.00m, a figure that would make him a relatively affordable defensive option for a Bundesliga side seeking experience without committing to a top-end fee. With no contract expiry date listed in the available data, it is unclear how long his deal at Besiktas runs, leaving open the possibility that his contractual situation could yet influence whether he moves for a fee or heads towards free-agent status in the future.

The defender, who stands at 1.93m and is a left-footed centre-back, has dual Germany–Nigeria nationality and has built a solid reputation in German football. He came through the youth ranks at Erzgebirge Aue and 1860 Munich before moving to Wolfsburg in 2017, then establishing himself at Augsburg, where his market value peaked at €16m in 2021. A loan spell from Augsburg to Besiktas in 2024 was later converted into a permanent switch, with his valuation gradually falling to its current €6m while in Türkiye’s Süper Lig.

Having already experienced both the Bundesliga and Süper Lig, a move to Mainz would mark another step in a career that has blended German top-flight know-how with exposure abroad, and it could yet offer Uduokhai a fresh platform to reassert his value and shape the next phase of his reputation if the transfer materialises.
