Felix Agu still sidelined as Augsburg clash approaches

Felix Agu’s return to action at Werder Bremen remains uncertain, with the full-back still absent from team training in the middle of the week.

On Wednesday he was once again missing from the pitch, keeping a question mark over his availability ahead of the weekend.

Coach Daniel Thioune had recently expressed hope that Agu could at least partially rejoin group sessions before Saturday’s home game against Augsburg. That gradual reintegration has not yet happened, leaving little time for the 26-year-old to prove his fitness before kick-off. As a result, his involvement in the match is increasingly doubtful.

Agu has already missed Werder’s last two fixtures against VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV due to muscular problems. The club will be cautious about rushing him back, especially with several important games still to come in the run-in.

For now, Bremen must prepare for Augsburg under the assumption that they may have to cope without their versatile wide defender once again. Any late change in his status would be a welcome boost, but time is running short.
