Felix Agu back in full Werder Bremen training

Felix Agu is closing in on his comeback for SV Werder Bremen after returning to full training with the team.

According to a report from DeichStube, the 26-year-old full-back completed the entire session with the squad on Wednesday and showed no signs of the muscular issues that had sidelined him. It marks the next step in his recovery, after he had already taken part in portions of Tuesday’s training.

Agu had recently been forced out with muscle problems and missed Werder’s last three Bundesliga matches as a result. His gradual reintroduction earlier in the week has now turned into full participation, which is an encouraging signal for the coaching staff and his teammates alike. The German defender’s pace and energy on the flank have been an important element in Bremen’s game plan over the past seasons.

With his return to full team training, Agu is now considered a realistic option for head coach Daniel Thioune for Saturday’s away fixture at TSG Hoffenheim. If he continues to come through sessions without any reaction, the Werder boss could have one more flexible defensive and offensive weapon available on the left side for the upcoming matchday.
