Federico Valverde backs Yan Diomande after Real Madrid display

Federico Valverde has offered strong support for Yan Diomande after the Real Madrid youngster impressed in Tuesday’s meeting with Elche.

The Uruguayan midfielder praised Diomande’s confidence and ability in one-on-one situations, highlighting the qualities that make him such a dangerous attacking option.

“Yan Diomande is a player who has ALL the qualities you want when he’s in a 1 vs 1 against the defender,” Valverde said.

The teenager played a decisive role during the match by creating a superb opportunity for Kylian Mbappe. Valverde described Diomande’s delivery as a “spectacular” pass and backed the French forward to finish whenever chances arrive.

“I trust him, we all trust him, and we know he’ll get a chance to score or assist,” Valverde added.

Diomande has started two games and played 244 minutes in La Liga since joining Real Madrid from RB Leipzig. Although his opportunities remain limited, his latest performance offered another glimpse of the talent that convinced Madrid to bring him to the Spanish capital.
