FC Zürich loan Ivorian striker Parfait Coulibaly to FC Wil
FC Zürich have confirmed that teenage striker Parfait Coulibaly has joined FC Wil 1900 on loan until the end of the season.
The 17-year-old forward, who is of Ivorian origin, will spend the remainder of the campaign with the Challenge League side as he seeks regular competitive minutes at senior level.
The move was announced officially by FC Zürich, who stated that Coulibaly will continue his development away from the club until the summer.
He joins FC Wil 1900, a team competing in Switzerland’s second tier, with the objective of gaining further first-team experience.
Coulibaly has primarily featured for Zürich’s U21 side in the Promotion League this season. He has also made a handful of appearances for the club’s U19 team, but has yet to establish himself at senior professional level.
The loan is viewed as an opportunity for the young attacker to bridge that gap and test himself in a more demanding environment.
Wil’s sporting director, Michael Lang, expressed his satisfaction at securing the services of the teenager, describing him as a fast and dynamic player capable of strengthening the club’s attacking options.
The move is expected to provide additional depth in forward areas as Wil continue their Challenge League campaign.
Despite the temporary switch, Coulibaly remains tied to Zürich on a long-term basis. He is under contract with the club until 2028, underlining the faith placed in his potential.
The loan spell is therefore seen as part of a broader development plan designed to accelerate his progress within Swiss football.
For Coulibaly, the coming months represent a significant step in his early career. A run of games at professional level could prove decisive in shaping his pathway when he returns to Zürich at the end of the season.
