FC Utrecht have secured the signature of highly rated Ghanaian forward Nana Gyamfi-Amoah, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old striker, currently with Accra Shooting Stars FC, will make the move to the Eredivisie side once he turns 18, in accordance with international transfer regulations.
While he cannot officially join the Dutch club this year due to FIFA’s age restrictions, the agreement ensures his arrival in the summer of 2026.
Utrecht, known for its focus on youth development, has already unveiled two new acquisitions ahead of the upcoming season.
Gyamfi-Amoah becomes the latest addition to their long-term recruitment strategy, having committed to a contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028.
“Nana is a player we’ve been monitoring closely for some time. We believe he has the potential to make a real impact when he joins us,” a Utrecht club official stated. “He will continue his development in Ghana until the time is right for him to join us here in the Netherlands.”
The young forward has been making waves in Ghana’s youth football circles, drawing attention for his sharp instincts in front of goal and technical agility.

Though still a teenager, his physical presence and composure have reportedly impressed Utrecht’s scouting department, who view him as a promising addition to the club’s future attacking line.
The Domstad club’s decision to finalise a deal this far in advance reflects both their confidence in Gyamfi-Amoah’s potential and a desire to fend off interest from other European sides.
With an eye firmly on the future, Utrecht continues to position itself as a destination for emerging international talent, particularly from Africa.
While Gyamfi-Amoah will remain with Accra Shooting Stars for at least another season, anticipation is already building around his eventual debut in the Eredivisie.
Utrecht’s supporters, who have witnessed the rise of several academy products in recent years, will be hoping the Ghanaian teenager is the next to make a successful transition to top-flight European football.
Until then, the forward will focus on refining his skills and gaining experience at the domestic level, with the Dutch club confident that his integration into their setup in 2026 will mark the beginning of a promising chapter in both his career and Utrecht’s attacking ambitions.
