German side FC St. Pauli are interested in signing Mali forward Lassine Sinayoko this summer.
The club has been busy this transfer window but is reportedly looking at making a few more additions before the window shuts.
According to French outlet L’Équipe, St. Pauli have submitted an opening bid of €4 million plus an additional €1 million in bonuses for Sinayoko, currently playing for Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre.
However, the initial offer has been rejected. Dinamo Moscow also had a €6 million bid turned down by the French club, indicating that Auxerre are holding out for a higher fee.
Despite the setback, St. Pauli are reportedly ready to return with an improved offer. If a deal is struck, it would mark a historic moment for the club, surpassing the club’s record signing of Joel Chima Fujita, who was brought in for approximately €3.5 million just weeks ago.
A move for Sinayoko would underline St. Pauli’s ambition as they prepare for life in Germany’s top flight.
