The national Ligue 1 LONACI championship of Côte d’Ivoire concluded on Saturday, June 1, 2024, after an emotion-packed season, crowning FC San Pedro as the champion. With the domestic season wrapped up, attention now shifts to the continental stage, where three Ivorian clubs will compete in African competitions: FC San Pedro, Racing Club d’Abidjan, and Stade d’Abidjan.

FC San Pedro, having already secured the title before the final matchday, solidified their dominance by lifting the champion’s trophy.

Their triumphant campaign, which saw them finish with 56 points and a goal difference of +18, earns them a spot in the prestigious CAF Champions League.

This marks a significant achievement for the club as they prepare to showcase their talent on a larger stage.

Racing Club d’Abidjan, the runners-up, also booked their place in the CAF Champions League.

Their decisive 4-0 victory over FC Mouna ensured they finished the season with 52 points and a goal difference of +17.

This impressive performance solidifies their status as a top contender in Ivorian football and provides them an opportunity to make an impact in continental competition.

Stade d’Abidjan, securing third place in the championship with 51 points and a goal difference of +17, clinched a ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup.

Their crucial 1-1 draw against ASEC Mimosas on the final day ensured their qualification.

Stade d’Abidjan will now aim to leverage this opportunity to achieve success on the continental front.

The second representative for the Confederation Cup will be determined by the outcome of the National Cup.

This will complete the lineup of Ivorian clubs vying for glory in African tournaments.

As the domestic season concludes, FC San Pedro, Racing Club d’Abidjan, and Stade d’Abidjan will now turn their focus to the challenges ahead in their respective African competitions.

Each club will look to carry the momentum of their successful league campaigns into their continental quests, aiming to elevate Ivorian football on the African stage.
