FC Rapid 1923 consider move for Saint-Etienne’s Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan

Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan, currently with Saint-Etienne, has been linked with a move to FC Rapid 1923 in Romania.

The 23-year-old is under contract with the Ligue 2 club until 30 June 2028. Rapid compete in Romania’s SuperLiga, with the proposed move involving a player whose current market value is listed at €1.8m.

Annan’s position is left-back, and his existing deal means Saint-Etienne retain him for almost two more years. The contract length could therefore be a relevant factor in any discussions between the French and Romanian clubs, although the terms of a possible transfer have not been established.

The rumour places Annan at the centre of interest from Rapid as the Bucharest club assess options for their squad. It would represent a move from France’s second tier to Romania’s top division for the Ghanaian defender.

Annan joined Saint-Etienne’s current set-up before the reported interest from Rapid emerged and remains registered with the French club. The link was recorded on 17 August 2026, with the player’s contractual situation unchanged: he is a Saint-Etienne left-back tied to the club through June 2028.
