FC Porto sign Moroccan teenage forward Lina El Jamai from PSG
Portuguese club FC Porto have announced the signing of 18-year-old Moroccan forward Lina El Jamai from French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
El Jamai joins Porto as the club strengthens its women’s team ahead of its debut season in the Portuguese top flight. The Portuguese side secured promotion after winning the second-division title last season and is now preparing for the challenge of competing among the country’s elite.
FC Porto confirmed on its official website that the young forward has joined the club and will wear the number 19 jersey.
El Jamai began her football development at French club Lille, where she quickly caught the attention of coaches with her ability to compete at higher age levels despite being younger than her teammates and opponents.
Her impressive progress earned her a move to Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 16. During her time with the Parisian club, she was given the opportunity to train with the first team during a pre-season camp in Australia before returning to the youth setup.
She subsequently played a key role in PSG’s youth team, helping them secure the domestic league title.
At international level, El Jamai has represented Morocco at youth level and emerged as one of the standout performers during the qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The teenage forward finished as the competition’s leading scorer after netting eight goals in just four matches, an impressive scoring record that earned her a nomination for the CAF Awards.
Her move to FC Porto represents another important step in her young career, with the Moroccan international now set to test herself in Portugal’s top division as Porto embark on their first-ever season in the women’s top flight.
