If Anthony Limbombe finishes the season on a high note with FC Nantes, a change of scenery could be on the cards next summer.

The Belgian winger of Congolese descent joined Nantes from Club Brugge in a record €8 million deal, the largest in the club’s history. Despite his contributions this season, including a goal and an assist during Nantes’ impressive recent run of 16 points from 18, the club has reportedly considered letting him leave.

This winter, FC Nantes attempted to sell Limbombe without success, but the idea of a move has not been abandoned. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the 24-year-old has been offered to Standard Liège and is also attracting interest from Spanish side Espanyol. Both player and club appear open to a transfer, with Nantes aiming to secure the highest possible fee for their record signing.

While Limbombe’s performances have been valuable on the pitch, the prospect of a summer transfer could allow him to take the next step in his career while providing Nantes with a significant return on their investment.
