FC Metz sign Senegal striker Abdourahmane Mbodji from Generation Foot

Senegalese teenager Abdourahmane Mbodji has joined FC Metz, completing a move from Generation Foot to begin the next stage of his career in France.

The 18-year-old centre-forward made the switch on 11 August 2026, with Metz competing in Ligue 2. No transfer fee has been disclosed. Mbodji becomes part of a club based in France after developing in Senegal with Generation Foot.

Mbodji arrives after a standout 2025-26 season, having finished as Ligue 1’s top scorer with 13 goals. His record placed him among the leading scorers in Senegal’s top flight before his move to Metz.

Born in Richard-Toll, Mbodji represents Senegal and stands at 1.77m. He is a right-footed forward whose primary position is through the middle, offering Metz a young attacking player following his most productive campaign to date.

His route to Generation Foot began in the club’s youth structure. He moved from Generation U20 to Generation Foot in July 2025, having previously progressed from Generation U17 to the under-20 side in July 2024.

The transfer therefore marks a step up from his development through Generation Foot’s system to a new league and country. Mbodji’s arrival at Metz follows the season in which he scored 13 Ligue 1 goals, the achievement that stands out in his record so far.

Mbodji’s market value is listed at €700,000, matching the highest value recorded for him. That figure reflects the status he had reached by the time he left Generation Foot, although the terms of his move to Metz have not been made public.

The striker’s arrival also links his recent success in Senegal with Metz’s campaign in Ligue 2. At 18, he joins the French club after spending the previous two seasons progressing through Generation Foot and establishing himself as a leading scorer in the country’s top division.

Mbodji has now left Generation Foot and joined FC Metz as a Senegal international forward, with the transfer completed on 11 August 2026.
