Moussa Gueye Joins Seraing United on Loan from FC Metz
FC Metz striker Moussa Gueye is set to begin a new chapter in Belgium as he searches for regular first-team football. The Senegalese international has joined Belgian second division side Seraing United on a season-long loan, without an option to buy, the French club confirmed on Monday.
The move comes as an opportunity for the 25-year-old forward to rejuvenate his career and gain valuable playing time after a challenging spell in France. Since signing with Metz in 2012, Gueye has struggled to secure a regular place in the starting lineup, featuring in just three Ligue 1 matches this season.
Gueye’s loan spell in Portugal with Académica last winter offered some playing time, but it did little to alter his status upon returning to Metz. Now, at Seraing United, he will be looking to rebuild confidence and demonstrate his potential in a competitive environment.
Once seen as a promising attacking talent, the former Standard Liège and Charleroi striker will be hoping to make the most of his return to Belgian football, where he previously showed flashes of promise.
With the Belgian Proximus League known for its physical style and emphasis on development, Gueye’s move could prove to be the right step toward reviving his form and possibly earning another chance at Metz or elsewhere in the future.
