FC Forward add Congolese defender Yanis Mateus from LS Nord Academy

Congo defender Yanis Mateus has joined FC Forward from LS Nord Academy on a free transfer, giving the 18-year-old a new club as he continues his early senior career.

Mateus, who was born on 22 November 2007, completed the move on 25 August 2026. He plays as a defender and has joined FC Forward after leaving LS Nord Academy, where he had spent the second half of the 2025-26 season.

The teenager moved to LS Nord Academy from Dardania LS on 15 February 2026, also on a free transfer. His spell at Dardania followed a move from FC Lutry in August 2025, meaning his switch to FC Forward is his third club change since the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign.

Mateus has already made a senior appearance in the 2. Liga Inter – Gr. 1, playing five minutes during the 2026-27 season. He was also registered for Swiss Cup and Swiss Cup qualifying competitions, although no appearances are recorded in either competition.

The move to FC Forward marks the latest step in a short career that has so far included spells with FC Lutry, Dardania LS and LS Nord Academy. Each of those transfers was completed without a fee, with the defender now moving on from LS Nord Academy to take up his next opportunity at FC Forward.

Mateus joins the Swiss club at the age of 18 and arrives with experience of football at several levels in the Swiss domestic system. His recorded playing role is in defence, while his recent senior involvement came in the 2. Liga Inter – Gr. 1.

FC Forward completed the free transfer on 25 August 2026.
