Ellyes Skhiri, one of the standout performers for Cologne since joining the club last summer, is drawing interest from other European teams. The Tunisian international, formerly of Montpellier, has featured in 11 Bundesliga matches this season, contributing one goal and two assists, highlighting his importance to the German side.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Serie A club Fiorentina is keen on acquiring Skhiri. The Italian club has previously attempted to sign the 24-year-old midfielder, making approaches in January 2017 and again last summer. Fiorentina is reportedly working to re-establish contact with Skhiri’s representatives to reignite their pursuit.
Cologne now faces a potential dilemma, as Skhiri has been one of their most reliable performers this season. It remains uncertain whether the Bundesliga club will be willing to part with one of their key players amid ongoing domestic and European campaigns. The coming weeks could determine if the Tunisian international makes a move to Italy or continues to play a central role for Cologne.
