Borussia Dortmund Eye Obbi Oulare in €6.5 Million Swoop
Rising Belgian star Obbi Oulare could be set for a major move just months after breaking into the professional ranks. The 19-year-old striker, of Guinean origin, has reportedly caught the attention of Borussia Dortmund following an impressive season with Club Brugge.
According to German outlet Bild, Dortmund are close to reaching an agreement for Oulare’s transfer. The Bundesliga side is said to have tabled a €6.5 million offer for the highly rated forward, who netted seven goals in his debut season with the Belgian giants.
Oulare’s potential switch comes as no surprise. Standing tall and possessing impressive physical attributes, the youngster has already drawn comparisons to some of Europe’s top target men. His performances in both the Pro League and European competition have highlighted a raw talent with significant upside.
However, Club Brugge have publicly denied any such deal is imminent. In comments to Sporting Telenet, the club dismissed reports of advanced negotiations and emphasized their desire to retain the forward. Head coach Michel Preud’homme has also made it clear that he views Oulare as part of his plans for the upcoming season.
Still, with Dortmund in search of fresh attacking options and a track record of developing young talents, the interest is likely to persist. For now, Oulare remains a Brugge player — but the summer transfer window is far from closed.
