Sandro Rosell, the president of FC Barcelona, has expressed his satisfaction in providing all the necessary documentation requested by the Spanish courts in the Neymar affair. The courts are investigating the contracts related to the recruitment of Brazilian striker Neymar in response to a complaint alleging “undue appropriation.”
In an end-of-year press statement, Rosell stated, “We are delighted to provide all the documentation that is requested.” A Spanish judge had recently called on FC Barcelona to submit the contracts associated with Neymar’s recruitment, aiming to determine whether an investigation should be initiated against the club president.
The complaint, filed by a supporter-shareholder of the club, accuses the current management of “undue appropriation,” a legal offense akin to an abuse of corporate property. The club member alleges that fellow supporters are unaware of the “real destination” of the funds spent on the transfer. FC Barcelona officially declared a payment of 57 million euros for Neymar’s services, who was previously with the Brazilian club Santos. However, the club cited “confidentiality reasons” as the basis for not disclosing the details of the financial arrangements surrounding the transfer.
