Spanish La Liga champions FC Barcelona are reportedly planning to activate the release clause of Nico Williams.
The club has made the Spanish forward of Ghanaian descent their priority signing and are working on a deal to sign him from Athletic Club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, FC Barcelona have decided to activate the €58 million release clause of Nico Williams to fast-track his signing.
This comes on the heels of multiple talks between Barcelona officials and Nico Williams’ representatives earlier this month.
Additional negotiations are expected to be held in the coming weeks, with Barcelona anticipated to engage in official talks with Athletic Club.
Nico Williams, 22, scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 45 appearances for Athletic Club last season.
The forward has already decided that he will prioritise Barcelona if he is to leave Athletic Club.
He is still a transfer target of Arsenal and Bayern Munich this summer.
