Aston Villa Set to Sign Barcelona’s Adama Traoré for €10 Million
Aston Villa are on the verge of completing the signing of Adama Traoré from FC Barcelona, with the move expected to be finalised this Thursday, according to reports from Sky Sports and Mundo Deportivo.
The 19-year-old winger, a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, is understood to have turned down an offer from Liverpool earlier this year in favour of joining Villa. The Premier League side is believed to have agreed to a €10 million transfer fee for the Spanish U19 international of Malian descent.
Adama has made four senior appearances for Barcelona, and Villa are offering him a three-year contract with an option for a fourth. Despite the sale, Barcelona are keen not to lose the talented youngster permanently. As a result, the deal is expected to include a priority buy-back clause, allowing the Catalan club the chance to re-sign the player in the future—though details of the clause, including its valuation, remain undisclosed.
Traoré’s powerful, pace-driven style is seen as a strong fit for the Premier League, and his arrival is viewed as a bold statement by Villa, who are actively rebuilding under manager Tim Sherwood.
