FC Arges consider move for Congolese-French striker Gabriel Charpentier
Gabriel Charpentier, the Congolese-French centre-forward currently without a club, has been linked with Romanian SuperLiga side FC Arges.
The 27-year-old left Cracovia on 1 July 2026, having joined the Polish club from Parma on a free transfer in September 2025. He is now being mentioned as a possible addition for FC Arges, although the move has not been confirmed.
Charpentier has experience across the Italian league system, including 56 Serie B appearances in which he scored 14 goals and provided five assists. He also played 10 times in Serie A, scoring once and registering three assists.
His most significant club honour came with Parma, when he won the Italian second-tier title in the 2023-24 season. Parma had signed him from Genoa in August 2022 for €1.4m, following loan spells with Frosinone and Ascoli.
The striker began his senior career in France with Nantes’ reserve and under-19 sides before moving to Latvia’s Spartaks in 2019. He later returned to Italy, where his career included periods with Avellino, Genoa, Reggina, Ascoli, Frosinone and Parma.
Charpentier is listed at 1.88m and favours his right foot. He remains without a club as FC Arges are linked with a potential move.
