Fawzi Al-Benzarti has reportedly submitted his resignation from his role as head coach of Wydad, according to Moroccan sports outlet, Le 360 Sport.
Al-Benzarti announced his resignation during the post-match press conference following Wydad’s loss against Chabab Al-Sowalem.
The 74-year-old Al-Benzarti, who took charge of Wydad for only 10 matches, managed to secure two victories, drew three times, and suffered five defeats.
Al-Benzarti succeeded Moroccan coach Adel Ramzi as Wydad’s coach.
Wydad currently occupies the fourth position in the Moroccan league standings with 28 points from 16 matches, trailing 12 points behind the league leaders, Royal Armed Forces and Raja Casablanca.
Wydad is set to face a highly anticipated encounter against Renaissance Berkane in the 19th round of the league competition on Saturday.
Furthermore, Wydad will be away to Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana on the 24th of this month in the CAF Champions League.
Wydad sits at the bottom of its Champions League group with 3 points, trailing Galaxy by one point and Simba SC, who holds the second position, by two points.
Meanwhile, ASEC Mimosas has officially secured its qualification after reaching 10 points following four rounds.
