The management of FUS Rabat has not yet entered into negotiations with veteran defender Mehdi El Bassel regarding the renewal of his contract, which expired this summer, sources have revealed to “Parlement Sport.”
El Bassel, who has been a stalwart of the Rabat-based team since 2014, was widely expected to extend his tenure with the club. However, club officials seem to have other plans, leaving the decision on his future pending in the coming days.
The lack of negotiation has come as a surprise to many, given El Bassel’s long and distinguished career with FUS Rabat. Known for his consistent performances and leadership on the field, the 37-year-old defender has also played for Union Touarga, FAR Rabat, and Maghreb Fez.
