Brighton have reportedly identified Algeria international Farès Chaïbi as one of their leading transfer targets and are said to have submitted an offer worth just over €30 million to Eintracht Frankfurt as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The reported move comes after Chaïbi impressed individually during Algeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, despite the national team’s early exit from the tournament.

His performances have reportedly attracted growing interest from clubs across Europe, with Brighton now emerging as one of the strongest contenders for his signature.

According to the latest reports, the Premier League club have prioritised the attacking midfielder during the current transfer window and have already opened discussions with Eintracht Frankfurt.

While no agreement has yet been reached between the two clubs, negotiations are said to be progressing positively.

Brighton target Chaïbi after impressive World Cup displays

The summer transfer window has already generated significant speculation surrounding several Algerian internationals, and Farès Chaïbi has become one of the latest names linked with a move.

After reports suggested that Jaouen Hadjam could be on his way to Italian side Como, attention has now shifted to Chaïbi, whose performances for Algeria at the 2026 World Cup are believed to have strengthened his reputation across Europe.

Although Algeria did not enjoy the tournament they had hoped for, Chaïbi emerged as one of the team’s standout performers.

Alongside Ibrahim Maza, he was widely regarded as one of Algeria’s brightest players during the competition.

His displays have reportedly encouraged Brighton to pursue a transfer, with the English club said to have made the 22-year-old one of their priority targets this summer.

Reports claim Brighton have submitted an offer worth slightly more than €30 million, with figures suggesting the proposal is close to €32 million.

Despite the reported bid, neither club has confirmed that an agreement has been reached.

Regular playing time could influence the midfielder’s decision

The reports also suggest that Chaïbi is open to the possibility of moving to the Premier League after experiencing limited opportunities during his time in Germany.

Although he featured regularly for Eintracht Frankfurt throughout the 2025/26 season, changes within the club’s coaching staff reportedly affected his role and consistency in the starting lineup.

During the campaign, the Algerian international made 38 appearances in all competitions.

Premier League move could offer a fresh opportunity

Across those matches, Chaïbi accumulated 2,537 minutes of football, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists.

For a player still in the early stages of his career, consistent playing time is considered an important factor in his continued development.

A move to England could potentially offer the midfielder the opportunity to establish himself in a new environment if negotiations between Brighton and Eintracht Frankfurt progress further.

Brighton are preparing for another European campaign after finishing eighth during the 2025/26 season, a result that secured the club a place in the UEFA Conference League play-offs later this summer.

Whether the Premier League side can complete a deal remains to be seen, but reports indicate that discussions are continuing as Brighton seek to strengthen their attacking options before the new season begins.

For now, Chaïbi’s future remains with Eintracht Frankfurt, although interest from England has placed the Algerian playmaker firmly among the players to watch during the remainder of the transfer window.
