FAR Rabat coach Alexandre Santos wary of Pyramids threat ahead of crucial CAF Champions League quarterfinals clash

Head coach of FAR Rabat Alexandre Santos has acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge awaiting his outfit as the team prepare to face Pyramids FC in the first leg of their CAF Champions League quarter-final clash.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, the Portuguese tactician emphasized that the encounter will be one of the toughest tests for his side this season, given the strength and growing reputation of the Egyptian outfit on the continental stage.

Santos described Pyramids FC as one of Africa’s strongest clubs in recent years, highlighting the depth and quality within their squad as well as their increasing experience in continental competitions.

“Pyramids are among the strongest teams on the African continent,” Santos said. “They possess a group of high-quality players and have accumulated significant experience in African competitions. Facing such a team requires great concentration and tactical discipline throughout the match.”

The Royal Army coach stressed that matches at this stage of the competition often hinge on the smallest of margins, where a single mistake or moment of brilliance can decide the outcome.

According to Santos, his players have worked hard in training to prepare for the tactical demands of the game and to ensure they are ready for the intensity expected in a knockout-stage battle.

“Matches in the knockout rounds are usually decided by small details,” he explained. “We have prepared well for this encounter despite some surrounding circumstances, and we are ready to compete.”

The Moroccan side is determined to capitalize on the first leg and secure a result that will put them in a favorable position heading into the return fixture.

Santos emphasized that achieving a positive outcome in the opening match remains a key objective for his team as they look to strengthen their chances of progressing to the semi-finals of Africa’s most prestigious club tournament.

The coach also praised the mentality within the FAR Rabat squad, noting that the players are fully aware of the significance of the competition and the responsibility that comes with representing one of Morocco’s most historic clubs.

He expressed confidence that his team will rise to the occasion and deliver a performance worthy of the club’s proud legacy.

“The players understand the importance of this competition,” Santos added. “They are determined to give everything on the pitch and produce a performance that reflects the history of the club and the ambitions of our supporters.”

With both sides eyeing a crucial first-leg advantage, the clash between FAR Rabat and Pyramids FC promises to be a fiercely contested encounter as two ambitious teams battle for a place in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
