Real Madrid’s attacking options dominate the Fantasy La Liga rankings ahead of Sunday’s Madrid derby, while Atletico Madrid provide the stronger defensive presence before the meeting at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
The two sides face one another in the seventh round of La Liga, with the fixture attracting particular interest from Fantasy football managers assessing which players have made the strongest starts to the season.
Based on points accumulated across the previous rounds, Kylian Mbappe is the leading selection from either team with 79 points. He is followed by Real Madrid team-mates Jude Bellingham on 66 and Arda Guler on 61.
Atletico Madrid’s Alex Baena has collected 49 points, while Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has 48. Lee Kang-in is next on 47, ahead of Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak on 42.
David Hancko and Alex Grimaldo have both scored 39 points, with Marcus Llorente on 38. The top 10 is completed by Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen, who has 30 points.
Atletico’s defensive strength is reflected in the wider comparison between the squads. Diego Simeone’s side have four of the five highest-scoring defenders in the derby: Hancko, Grimaldo, Llorente and Le Normand. All four have outscored Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen, who has 30 points.
Oblak is also ahead of Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the Fantasy rankings. The Atletico captain has 42 points so far, compared with 37 for Courtois.
Real Madrid have the greater representation in attack, with three of the five highest-ranked forwards listed for the fixture: Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Yan Diomande. They are joined among the leading five by Giuliano Simeone and Ademola Lookman.
The midfield comparison also favours Real Madrid, who contribute Jude Bellingham, on 66 points, Arda Guler, on 61, and Federico Valverde, on 30. Atletico’s two representatives are Alex Baena, with 49 points, and Lee Kang-in, with 47.
A suggested Fantasy La Liga line-up for the derby is:
Goalkeeper: Jan Oblak (42 points)
Defenders: David Hancko (39), Alex Grimaldo (39), Marcus Llorente (38) and Dean Huijsen (30)
Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (66), Arda Guler (61) and Alex Baena (49)
Forwards: Kylian Mbappe (79), Vinicius Junior (48) and Giuliano Simeone (32)
Recent form further strengthens the case for several of those names. Mbappe has collected 38 points over the past three La Liga rounds, the highest total among the derby players.
Guler is second with 34 points, followed by Grimaldo on 33. Bellingham has taken 22 points from the last three rounds, while Lee Kang-in completes the top five with 21.
