Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller has expressed his determination to secure the CAF Champions League title for the club, responding to the high expectations of the fans.
In an interview with the Austrian newspaper DIEPRESSE, the Swiss coach emphasised his commitment to fulfilling the desires of the club’s passionate supporters.
“The fans are constantly demanding to win championships, and I seek to meet the fans’ needs and seek to win all the titles,” Koller said.
Despite rumours of interest from other clubs, Koller confirmed that he has not received any offers and remains focused on his responsibilities with Al Ahly.
His immediate goal is to prepare the team for their Intercontinental Cup final against Real Madrid on December 18 in Qatar.
While Koller hinted at the possibility of concluding his coaching career in Egypt, he stressed that any decision would involve discussions with his family in Switzerland.
He also expressed his respect for Egyptian culture and religious customs, noting that he has successfully adapted to the local environment.
Acknowledging Al Ahly’s stature as Africa’s most decorated club, Koller underscored his pride in managing such a prestigious team and reaffirmed his dedication to adding more trophies to the club’s illustrious history.
Up next for Al Ahly, the team will take on Orlando Pirates on Saturday, December 7 in their second group game in the CAF Champions League.
