Fallou Faye completes Qatar move to Umm Salal after Senegal league campaign

Senegal striker Fallou Faye has joined Umm Salal SC from Guediawaye FC, completing a move to Qatar’s Qatar Stars League 2.

The 19-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with Umm Salal running until 30 June 2028. He makes the switch after one season with Guediawaye, where he registered eight goals and two assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances, playing 2,089 minutes.

Faye arrives in Qatar following a campaign in which he scored once every 261 minutes in Senegal’s top flight. His performances came after he joined Guediawaye from fellow Senegalese club Teungueth FC in September 2025.

The forward began his senior career with ASC Yakaar, moving to AJEL Rufisque in 2022 before joining ASFA Dakar the following year. He then transferred to Dakar UC in July 2023, ahead of his spells with Teungueth and Guediawaye.

Born in Rufisque, Faye is a Senegal international by nationality. He stands 1.90 metres tall and prefers his right foot, giving Umm Salal a physically imposing central attacking option as the club adds a young forward to its squad.

His arrival continues a career that has so far been built entirely in Senegal before this first recorded move abroad. Faye played for five domestic clubs before leaving Guediawaye, with each of his previous transfers recorded as a free move.

Umm Salal have now secured Faye’s services through to the summer of 2028, and the Senegalese forward begins the next stage of his career in Qatar.
