Good news for Tunisia: Fakhreddine Ben Youssef is set to return in time for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Carthage Eagles will kick off their AFCON campaign on June 24 against Angola in Group E, with the match scheduled to take place in Suez, Egypt. After missing several weeks due to injury, Ben Youssef is expected to be available for selection.
According to Kawarji, the Tunisian Football Federation confirmed the conclusion of the striker’s rehabilitation period. The international forward will now be able to return to his club, Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, to resume competitive action ahead of the continental tournament.
Ben Youssef’s return is a significant boost for Tunisia, as the team looks to start the tournament strongly. The 29-year-old forward will hope to regain his spot in the national squad and provide the attacking edge the Carthage Eagles need to make an impact at the 2019 AFCON.
