Fahad Al Mesmari attracts Al-Ahly interest after Club Africain title campaign

Fahad Al Mesmari, a 22-year-old Libyan winger with Club Africain, has been linked with a move to Libyan Premier League club Al-Ahly.

Al Mesmari joined Club Africain from Al-Tahaddy in January 2025 and remains under contract with the Tunisian side until 30 June 2028. The proposed move would see him return to Libya after an 18-month spell in Tunisia.

The left winger made 29 Ligue 1 appearances for Club Africain, providing three assists. He also featured in the club’s continental and domestic campaigns, including four appearances in Uefa Europa Conference League qualifying.

Club Africain won the Tunisian championship in the 2025-26 season, adding a significant honour to Al Mesmari’s brief spell with the club. He previously won the Montenegrin Cup with FK Sutjeska Niksic during the 2022-23 season.

Al Mesmari began his senior career with Al-Ahly before moving to Sutjeska Niksic in July 2022. After leaving the Montenegrin club in November 2023, he returned to Libya with Al-Tahaddy before securing his move to Club Africain.

A transfer to Al-Ahly would therefore represent a return to his home country and to the club listed as his first senior side. Club Africain’s long-term contract position means any move would involve the Tunisian champions rather than a free transfer.
