Fadlu Davids agrees deal to become Young Africans head coach

South African coach Fadlu Davids has reached an agreement to take charge of Young Africans, replacing Manqoba Mngqithi.

Davids has been without a club since June, when he left Moroccan side Raja Casablanca by mutual consent.

The former Simba SC coach was previously considered for the Young Africans job before the Tanzanian club appointed Mngqithi. However, talks broke down after the two sides failed to agree on financial terms.

Mngqithi’s short tenure ended towards the end of October after only three months in charge.

Davids is now expected to be confirmed as Young Africans’ next head coach, according to a report by FARPost.

The 43-year-old is familiar with Tanzanian football after previously managing Young Africans’ fierce rivals, Simba SC. During his time at Simba, he led the club to the CAF Confederation Cup final, but they were beaten and did not win the competition.
