Fabrice Ondoa has completed a move to Rabotnicki Skopje, signing as a free agent after a spell without a club, in a deal that will run from 02/02/2026 until 30/06/2027. The Cameroon international goalkeeper joins the North Macedonian side with a current market value listed at €325k, adding top-level experience and depth to a squad competing in the Prva liga.
Rabotnicki have taken advantage of Ondoa’s free-agent status following his departure from Latvian outfit FC RFS and a subsequent period unattached. No transfer fee was involved in the move, allowing the Skopje club to secure a player with extensive European experience at minimal upfront cost. The 30-year-old will be registered as their new goalkeeper immediately from the start of his contract on 02/02/2026, with his deal set to expire on 30/06/2027.
The transfer marks another step in a career that has repeatedly taken Ondoa away from his homeland and into various European leagues. Born in Yaoundé and developed at the Samuel Eto’o Academy before moving to FC Barcelona’s youth system, he has spent his entire professional journey abroad rather than in Cameroon’s domestic competitions. In North Macedonia, he is set to feature in the Prva liga, adding a new country to a résumé that already includes Spain, Belgium, Croatia, Latvia and France.
Ondoa’s path to Rabotnicki has been winding. After progressing through Barcelona’s youth ranks to FC Barcelona Atlètic, he moved on to Pobla de Mafumet CF and Gimnàstic de Tarragona, with loan spells at Sevilla Atlético. A switch to KV Oostende in Belgium in 2018 saw his market value peak at around €900k before a gradual decline. Later spells at NK Istra 1961 in Croatia, Deportivo Alavés in Spain, FK Auda and FC RFS in Latvia, and Nîmes Olympique in France underline a career spent largely in Europe’s secondary divisions and emerging leagues.
His most recent club stint came with FC RFS, after which he became a free agent on 01/07/2025. A further market-value update in late 2025 rated him at €325k while still without a club, reflecting enduring regard for his abilities despite a period on the sidelines. That valuation, combined with the absence of a transfer fee, made him an accessible target for Rabotnicki as they looked for an experienced goalkeeper who has operated in a range of tactical environments.
Standing 1.85m and preferring his right foot, Ondoa arrives at an age where goalkeepers are often considered to be at or near their peak. For Rabotnicki, his signing addresses both short-term squad needs and medium-term stability in goal through to the end of the 2026–27 cycle. For the player, it is another opportunity to re-establish himself as a first-choice option in a top-flight setting, this time in North Macedonia’s premier division.
With a career that began in Cameroon and was shaped by the Barcelona academy, Ondoa now faces a new challenge in the Balkans. If he secures the starting role and performs consistently, this chapter at Rabotnicki could revitalise his reputation on the European stage and open further doors once his contract concludes on 30/06/2027.
