Fabinho: Mohamed Salah’s influence gives Trabzonspor confidence

Fabinho says playing alongside Mohamed Salah gives him confidence after the forward inspired Trabzonspor to a 4-0 victory over Galatasaray in the sixth round of the Turkish league.

Salah scored a hat-trick at Trabzonspor’s stadium and created the fourth goal as his side secured a convincing win.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS after the match, Fabinho said: “Salah’s performance? I am used to these things from Salah. I am used to him making the difference, and having him alongside you gives you confidence on the pitch.”

He added: “Big players have to take responsibility in big matches. You expect players like him to do something special, and he is the kind of player who appears when the team needs him.”

Fabinho also praised Salah’s work ethic and contribution to the team.

“Salah is a player who works very hard and is very used to helping his team-mates,” he said. “When he plays, the team shows its true strength.”

The performance was particularly meaningful for Salah, according to Fabinho, who said he was delighted for his team-mate and friend.

“I think this is the first time he has produced this kind of performance here,” Fabinho said. “I am extremely happy for him and, as his friend, I congratulate him.”

Salah’s three goals took his total for the season to seven, making him the outright leader of the Turkish league’s scoring chart.
