Fabien Farnolle Seeks New Challenge with Trial at Blackburn Rovers
Fabien Farnolle, the 29-year-old Franco-Beninese goalkeeper, is currently searching for a new club following his recent move to OGC Nice. After spending four years at Clermont Foot, Farnolle is set to trial with English Championship side Blackburn Rovers as he looks to secure a contract.
Known for his athleticism and consistency, Farnolle has often been ranked among the top five goalkeepers in Ligue 2. His potential move to Nice arose amid the Ligue 1 club’s urgent need for a reliable goalkeeper, following injuries to key players Hansen and Delle, as well as the departure of David Ospina to Arsenal.
On Tuesday, Nice hosted another goalkeeper, Simon Pouplin—formerly of Sochaux—for a trial. Meanwhile, Farnolle has also been linked with a possible transfer to Belgian side Standard Liège, highlighting his ambition to continue competing at a high level.
