Ezechiel Banzuzi transfer: Monaco linked with Leipzig midfielder
Ezechiel Banzuzi, a Netherlands and DR Congo midfielder at Leipzig, has been linked with a move to Monaco.
The 21-year-old joined the Bundesliga club from Belgian side OH Leuven on 1 July 2025 in a €16m transfer. He has a contract with Leipzig until 30 June 2030, meaning any move would involve a deal between the clubs rather than a free transfer.
Banzuzi has made 24 Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig, providing one assist. He has also scored twice in four DFB-Pokal appearances.
The central midfielder began his senior career at NAC Breda before moving to OH Leuven in July 2023. He made 55 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, scoring four goals and registering six assists, before his move to Germany.
Banzuzi was born in Zwijndrecht and is listed as holding Netherlands and DR Congo nationality. He stands 1.91m tall and is right-footed.
His current market value is €16m, matching the fee Leipzig paid to sign him from OH Leuven. The reported interest from Monaco comes with Banzuzi still tied to Leipzig for four more seasons, with the German club retaining him under contract through June 2030.
