Explosive Premier League race emerges for Yacine Titraoui

Yacine Titraoui has emerged as a target for multiple Premier League clubs after impressing with Charleroi in Belgium, setting up a potential summer transfer battle.

The 22-year-old Algerian midfielder has developed into one of the standout young players in the Belgian Pro League since joining Royal Charleroi SC in 2024.

During the 2025-26 season, he has contributed four goals and two assists in 31 appearances, underlining his growing influence and composure in midfield.

Although his performances were not enough to secure a place in Algeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, interest from England has intensified.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were initially linked with the midfielder, but reports indicate that the club’s precarious position at the foot of the Premier League table has complicated matters.

Concerns over possible relegation to the Championship are said to have made a move to Molineux less attractive for Titraoui and his representatives.

Charleroi are reportedly seeking at least €8 million for the player. His former club, Paradou AC, are believed to hold a 25% sell-on clause, increasing the incentive for the Belgian side to maximise the transfer fee.

In recent developments, Sunderland AFC and Leeds United have been linked with interest in the midfielder.

Sunderland, despite a run of three consecutive defeats, sit 12th in the table following their return to the top flight under Régis Le Bris. Leeds occupy 15th place, maintaining a six-point cushion above the relegation zone.

A move to either club would represent a significant step in Titraoui’s career.

While still viewed as a player with room for development, his performances in Belgium have placed him firmly on the radar of English sides seeking midfield reinforcements ahead of the summer window.
