Experienced Moroccan defender, Badr Banoun, has returned to Raja Casablanca after five years away.
The Moroccan club announced the return of the defender on Wednesday, June 4.
Banoun, 31, left Raja Casablanca in November 2020 to embark on an international journey that saw him feature for Egyptian giants Al Ahly and, later, Qatar SC.
His return marks a significant homecoming for the experienced defender, who rose to prominence at Raja before his move abroad.
In a short unveiling video, Raja Casablanca reintroduced Banoun to fans and media, though the club did not disclose the duration of his contract.
During his stint with Al Ahly from 2020 to 2022, Banoun made 52 appearances across all competitions, netting four goals and registering one assist. He later joined Qatar SC, where he continued to build his career in the Qatari Stars League.
On the international stage, Banoun was part of Morocco’s historic 2022 FIFA World Cup squad, which finished fourth under head coach Walid Regragui.
His return to Raja Casablanca is expected to provide a major squad boost for the club ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
