A source within Zamalek has shed light on the truth surrounding the club’s purported interest in securing the services of Togolese midfielder Roger Ahorlu during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Recent reports have linked the defensive midfielder, who recently terminated his contract with Moroccan side Raja Casablanca, with a move to the ranks of the White Knights.
A Zamalek insider told FilGoal.com, “Roger Ahorlu, the former Raja midfielder, has indeed been presented as an option to Zamalek, and the club has prioritized opening the registration window in the winter transfer market.”
The source emphasized, “Priority, in the event of signing a foreign player, will also be given to a position in the attacking midfield.”
Ahorlu terminated his contract with Raja Casablanca after fully and conclusively waiving his contractual obligations with the Moroccan team.
Since joining last season, Ahorlu has featured in a total of 43 matches and scored two goals for Raja Casablanca.
The 30-year-old Togolese player primarily operates in the defensive midfield position and has previously played for Tunisia’s Union Sportive de Monastir.
In the current season, Ahorlu has participated in 13 matches for Raja Casablanca in both league and the Moroccan Throne Cup, without registering any goals or assists.
