Vitor Pereira, the Portuguese head of the referees’ committee at the Egyptian Football Association, has stirred up a division within the football governing body.
“Btolat” has learned that there is a split within the Egyptian Football Association regarding Pereira’s continuity beyond the current season when his contract concludes.
During a recent council meeting, members discussed Pereira’s role, with some supporting the idea of extending the experience for at least another season.
However, others held a different opinion, suggesting it might be more prudent to appoint an Egyptian head for the referees’ committee by the end of the current season.
Discussions persist within the Egyptian Football Association to determine Pereira’s fate and make the appropriate decision.
