Known for his active presence on social media, Akakpo highlighted the excitement of facing off against neighboring Ghana in what promises to be an intense derby: “A rather evenly matched group and a thrilling DERBY awaits us against our Ghanaian neighbors!! I’m already looking forward to it…”

Later, the Togolese vice-captain provided a deeper analysis of Group E, emphasizing the need for caution despite the apparent balance of the group: “At first glance, our group appears competitive and we stand a good chance. However, I see potential pitfalls! African teams have significantly improved over the past 4-5 years, offering high-quality football with a level of discipline that was previously lacking. We must remain vigilant and avoid underestimating any opponent, as complacency could lead to surprises. Furthermore, being paired with Ghana presents us with a significant opportunity to showcase our abilities and engage in a ‘gala’ match, given the proximity of our nations,” explained the Hoverla defender, who currently plies his trade in the Ukrainian Premier League.
