Former Wydad AC star Yahya Jabrane has left the door open for Moroccan national team return as the team gears up for the 2026 World Cup tournament, to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The 34-year-old midfielder, who plies his trade for UAE outfit, Ajman Club, has recently been overlooked by the technical team led by Walid Regragui. He missed out on the AFCON 2025 tournament, where the Atlas Lions reached the finals.

While expressing support for Regragui amid uncertain future, the experienced midfielder has declared he is ready to serve his nation at any time.

“I support Regragui until death, and I am ready to serve my national team at any time,” he Emirates Today in an interview.

“Regragui is one of the great coaches who have contributed a lot to Moroccan football,” Jabrane said. “Keeping Regragui is in Morocco’s best interest, and he can repeat the achievement that was accomplished in the 2022 Qatar World Cup by finishing fourth.”

Jabrane joined Ajman Club in February 2026 and has since established himself as a key member of the team, making nine appearances and scoring one goal in the process.

Since making his debut for Morocco in 2018, Jabrane has made 20 appearances for the Atlas Lions, scoring two goals across the period.
